Roundtable on Research and Education Policy
March 22, 2013 - Islamabad:

As part of the U.S. Government’s long-term efforts to improve the quality of basic education in Pakistan, the USAID Teacher Education Project organized a roundtable meeting to share and discuss findings from a recent study looking at the connection between research and education policy making.

The study was conducted with respondents from public and private universities in Pakistan, national and provincial level policy makers and representatives from non-government research organizations. In addition to discussing the findings from the study, participants in the roundtable meeting held at the Higher Education Commission Islamabad also generated a set of recommendations to enhance policy analysis and policy research in Pakistan and to increase the uptake of research in the policy making community.

Dr. Irfan Muzaffar, an independent education researcher, and Andrew Seager, from the Education Development Center, worked with a team of researchers in Pakistan to conduct the study.
